Dynasty Gallery is pleased to announce that we will attend to Art Taipei 2021, Booth N02. The public days will be October 22 to 25 at Taipei World Trade Center. This year, we will exhibit the creations of Yayoi KUSAMA, LIN Yu-Ching & WEI Hsing-Yu, TSENG Shang-Jie and OU Jing-Yun. Furthermore, we will cooperate with the online-offline curating platform EchoX and trading platform akaSwap to publish NFT of the artist group LIN Yu-Ching & WEI Hsing-Yu’s art during Art Taipei 2021. This is the first time we try to link the physical artworks to the metaverse! The epidemic in Taiwan has slowed down, and the art has withstood the challenge. We hope to meet you once again in Art Taipei 2021.

The works of Yayoi KUSAMA spanned the two most important artistic movements of the second half of the twentieth century: Pop and Minimalism. In her influential creative career, her works include paintings, sculptures, performances, installations that fill the entire room, literary works, movies, fashion, design, and interventions in existing architectural structures. Since 2000s, KUSAMA has received solo exhibition invitations continuously from art museums around the world. Her works are widely known to people, and now she is the most influential global artist. This time, Dynasty Gallery will exhibit Yayoi KUSAMA’s most popular pumpkin series. The round and plump pumpkins are memories of Kusama’s childhood and symbolize her love for this world.

LIN Yu-Ching & WEI Hsing-Yu starting to co-create have more than ten years. In the world they built, the fixed and regular patterns of color-using make an atmosphere close to Tempera and Frescoes works, bringing people a peaceful and steady experience. In addition, the articles connecting different series has added the synchronicity of ancient murals to these work (to put a whole lengthy story on one wall), which provides the audience with an overview while they immerse in the exquisite details at the same time. The main character “Wulala” is like an avatar of the artists and always appeared in the works. As a guide, it brings us to discover and wander about unhurriedly in LIN & WEI’s poems which are created for the artworks.

TSENG Shang-Jie specializes in wood carving. He does not pursue the precise reproduction of the form but tends to reinterpret the spiritual feeling. The artist believes that looking at his three-dimensional works from the perspective of painting can be better expressing his inner perception of the world. The randomness generated by the color of the paint covering the knife marks, as well as the ambiguity of coloring and then engraving, both echoing the artist's cognition of the "subtraction" of sculpture is also an exploration between reality and nihility. The "Swinger" series exhibited at Art Taipei this time seems to be TSENG's research report on urban youths of similar age with the artist, but it is a quick glimpse of pedestrians on the road and the extended imagination that follows. The artist uses knife marks to express the speed line, and the blank color of details trigger people's imagination. Like sketches, a kind of pleasant and unrestrained style emerges spontaneously.

OU Jing-Yun thinks an artist has the power to condense a life force given by an era into a painting. During the process of making an artwork, an artist absorbs as well as consumes the illusion of the era to transform it into a specific image. Painting itself is an imaginary shelter among his creation. With the filled self-identity, he made painting incorporate the shapes of life, which turns into frantic whisper and limited poetics. This is the first time OU attends to Art Taipei, and his 6 newest will be presented. "Peach Tree Park" tries to build different impression from the other works before by oil and golden leaf. "Peach Tree in Dreamland 1" and "Peach Tree in Dreamland 2" add the elements of classical court painting, let the images present the profusion of distinct universes which across with each other. These also bring us into another world in the artist's mind.
