 “The Rising Show 2016” Open Call

          1. Purpose

   

    To promote young artists in the field of contemporary art, Dynasty Gallery has decided to launch this program "The Rising Show", hoping to discover talented young artist and their works, and provide those being selected with the opportunity of holding exhibitions with Dynasty Gallery. We wish to provide these artists a stage to shine, as well as to propel the market of contemporary art.

     2.Qualifications:

 

  • Young artists(or group) who hold passion and dreams toward art creation, and at the same time possess an actively positive personality

 

  • Have no contract with any other commercial space or agency in any form.

 

  •  Applicants from all around the world can register.

3. Deadline：

 

2015.Dec.12

4. Application:

 

Please have all your application materials uploaded to a cloud space, then download the link and send it by e-mail to Dynasty Gallery's e-mail(dyart.tw@gmail.com).

 

Please note "application for The Rising Show 2016" along with your name in the title of this letter. 

 

The application materials include:

 

 

A.  The Application Form

 

  •  A complete portfolio of the applicant(including exhibition experience, award and residency, published works and collection, etc. ).

 

  • A description and concept of the applying series . (no less than 300 words).

 

  • More the 10 pieces of works created within the past two years, which are eligible for exhibition and for sale. 

 

 

 

B. Image of the works

 

  • jpg files of the works(about 1-3mb)，the pieces that have never been display publicly in any commercial space must make up over  2/3.

 

  • Two photos of the artist taken in the past year.

 

  • Free in  media ，yet,

    • 3D works must have three photos taken from different angles. 

    •   Video works must upload a demo limited to 3 minutes to Youtube or Vimeo(please attach the link in your list of work)。

    5. Selection and Results:

 

 

  • A jury of knowledgeable specialist will select an indefinite number of artists.

 

  • The results of the selection will be published on our website and facebook page by Dec. 26, 2015. Selected artists shall be informed by person.

 

  • Those who weren't selected will not receive notifications.

        7. Obligations:

 

  • Selected artists shall sign an one-year exhibition contract with Dynasty Gallery to certify the rights of both sides.

 

  • Selected artists should have their exhibition held in coordination with the schedule of Dynasty Gallery.

 

  • If no special circumstances, the works on display should match with the list within the application form. The works and outline of the exhibitions can only be altered when an agreement from both sides is reached.

 

  •  The content of display and the info during the application should all be original. If any plagiarism is to be found, the artist  alone should take the legal responsibilities.

 

  • If any selected artists has given up his or her place, the following candidate shall fill in the vacancy.

            6. Award:

 

Selected artists shall receive the opportunity to cooperate with Dynasty Gallery, such opportunities includes:

 

  • Displaying their works in the booth of Dynasty Gallery in Young Art Taipei 2016.

 

  •  Having their solo exhibition held in Dynasty Gallery in the summer or fall of 2016.

 

  • Participating in other group exhibitions or events hosted by Dynasty Gallery.

 

  •  Their submitted works shall earn the priority access to Dynasty Gallery's annual collection.

 How Do I Upload My Application Materials? 

1. Log into Google, select the "Drive" above your page.

 

2. After entering your Drive, select "NEW" on the left side.

 

3. Add a new "Folder."

 

4. Name the folder as "The Rising Show 2016_XXX(please replace the X with your name)," and click "Create."

 

5. After entering your new folder, select "File upload" under the "NEW" button.

6. Upload your "Application Form," "two pictures of the artisrt", along with the photes of "at least 10 pieces of your works" onto this folder.

7. Click on the title of this folder.

8. Click on "Share."

9. Click the little iamge on the upper right corner to "Get shareable link."

10. Copy the link that appeared, and paste it into the applying e-mail before send it to Dynasty Gallery.
